I'm Amy...

I'm a cartographer, designer, illustrator, and artist in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

My work stems from my BFA from NSCAD University (2022) and eight years of freelance graphic design, creating for individuals and organizations across Canada. In 2026, I graduated from the NSCC Centre of Geographic Sciences (COGS) with a Diploma in GIS - Cartography & Geovisualization, taking my visual communication skills to the next level and introducing geospatial capabilities into my work. I recently completed a work term with the Government of Nova Scotia/GeoNOVA in the Geographic Naming Department where I gained practical experience transforming provincial data into modern map templates, standardizing design and improving department efficiency.

My skills include:

- GIS software: Esri ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, Field Maps, QGIS
- Graphics software: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign
- Basic understanding of code languages: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Arcade, SQL
- Geoprocessing and georeferencing of vector and raster data
- Spatial data collection, editing, management, analysis, QA/QC
- Map production and cartographic design
- Experience with municipal/provincial datasets and Open Data portals
- Print, layout, and document design, including RFPs, promo packages, presentations

- Brand identity and creative direction 
- Fine arts techniques: drawing, painting, printmaking
